In the 1920s, Stockamöllan was commissioned to develop a new deck chair for the Swedish America Line. The chair was to combine high comfort with an aesthetic suitable for life aboard the elegant passenger ships of the era, where every detail needed to balance function, durability, and aesthetics. The result was the SAL Deck Chair – a piece of furniture that, with its well-engineered construction, high comfort, and timeless form, became an integral part of Swedish design history.
