Wipe up spills as soon as possible to reduce the risk of stains and penetration. - Clean gently when needed
Wipe with a lightly damp cloth and avoid exposing the wood to unnecessary moisture. - Avoid strong sunlight for extended periods
Ideally, place the furniture in a protected spot for longer periods to reduce color changes.
Oiling
- Clean the surface first
Ensure the wood is clean and dry before starting any treatment. - Lightly sand if needed
If the surface feels uneven, gently sand with fine sandpaper before oiling. - Apply wood oil evenly
Use an oil intended for teak or outdoor wood and apply a thin, even layer. Wipe off excess
Allow the oil to penetrate, then wipe off any excess oil for a smoother finish.
Storage
- Dry and frost-free - Store the furniture in a dry and frost-free place, preferably indoors, during winter.
- Protect from the elements - Storing the furniture in a sheltered place when not in use helps to prolong its lifespan.
